(July 24) Today we're celebrating . . .  Cousin?s Day

Cousin’s Day
A day for celebrating our cousins! I know I’m showing my age now but what better way to celebrate the day than a little clip of TVs ultimate cousins!

Meet Cathy, who’s lived most everywhere,
From Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
But Patty’s only seen the sights
A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights –
What a crazy pair!

But they’re cousins,
Identical cousins all the way.
One pair of matching bookends,
Different as night and day.

Where Cathy adores a minuet,
The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,
Our Patty loves to rock and roll,
A hot dog makes her lose control –
What a wild duet!

Still, they’re cousins,
Identical cousins and you’ll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike –
You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

(July 22) Today we're celebrating . . .  Pied Piper Day

Pied Piper Day
Recall today the legend of the Pied Piper, the German piper who saved the town from its rat problem by piping them out of town — and into the Weser River. Legend has it that the piper then turned his talents on the town’s children, who followed him out of town, never to be seen again.

National Get Out of the Doghouse Day

Oh Oh. Screwed up again? Have you been banished to the doghouse?

Well today’s the day to ask for forgiveness and try to work on getting yourself back in the ”house.” Good luck!

Celebrating the first human landing on the moon by the crew of Apollo 11.

Led by commander Neil Armstrong, lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin and command module pilot Michael Collins, Apollo 11 blasted off from Earth on July 16, 1969. Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon on July 20, while Collins circled above in lunar orbit. On the following day, July 21, Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon. Buzz Aldrin followed shortly becoming the 2nd human to walk on the moon.
