Memorial Day Glitter Crafts for Kids
Celebrate Memorial Day with a fun-filled kids’ craft. Get creative, show some sparkle and with a glitter activity. Start with red, white (use either opal or silver) and blue glitter. And, go from there. Check out these artsy ideas that your creative kiddos will get a kick out of. Your family can try one or do all of these red, white and blue Memorial Day projects.
Make the stars and stripes shine – literally. Your child can draw the outline of flag on a piece of cardboard. Reuse the front of an old cereal box, and cut it into a rectangle. After drawing the stripes and the rectangular star area cover it up with clear-drying school glue. Now it’s time for the glitter. Sprinkle it onto the flag, making red and white stripes. Add the blue to the smaller rectangle and sprinkle a few white sparkles onto it as stars.
Slime is all the rage. So, why not make some with a patriotic feel? Mix equal parts water and clear-drying school glue. Add liquid starch (in the same quantity as the water) and mix until it gets slimy. Toss in red, white and blue glitter and mash it around.
Make a memory on Memorial Day. Glue four thick craft sticks together, creating a square. Paint a layer of glue on top and add the sparkles. When the glue dries, tape a holiday picture to the back of the sticks to complete the frame.
