Easy St. Patrick’s Day Desserts
Your child can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by helping you to make a sweet treat. Even though your kiddo can’t use the oven or the stove, they can mix, measure and decorate these delicious goodies for the holiday.
Use a food processor to grind your child’s favorite cream-filled sandwich cookies into a sand-like consistency. Mix them with two to three ounces of cream cheese and form them into balls. Freeze the spheres. When they’re firm, take them out and coat them with melted chocolate. But not just any melted chocolate. Melt white chocolate in the microwave (be careful, it will be hot — too hot for a child to handle). Add a drop or two of green food coloring in and spoon the chocolate onto the cookie balls. Cover with green sprinkles.
Rice Cereal Treats
Make a batch of the time-tested rice cereal treats. But instead of melting plain marshmallows, add green food coloring to them. When you mix it together, you’ll get green rice creak bars. Mix in shamrock-shaped sprinkles too!
Ice Cream Sundaes
If you’re looking for a completely no-bake St. Patrick’s Day treat, try this one. Set up an ice cream sundae bar, with plenty of green options. Add green mint chocolate chip ice cream, green sprinkles, green gummies and anything else your kids can think of.
