Election Day Political Party Treats

Whether you’re a democrat or a republican, you can celebrate Election Day with with blue and red themed treats! Spice up your “political party” with cookies, cupcakes, salads and more!
Cookies and Cupcakes
Dress up plain sugar cookies or vanilla cupcakes with a blue or red theme. Either buy already-colored frosting or make your own with a mix of white icing and a few drops of food coloring. Cover the tops of the cookies and cupcakes, add sprinkles or crystal sugar and serve the political party-themed desserts to your guests.
Salads
Turn a fresh green salad into a political party recipe—with a blue and red accompaniment. Add blueberries, raspberries or sliced strawberries to arugula and other other greens. Your guests can choose their own blue or red toppers or get the two parties together and serve all the berries in one bowl.
Tea Sandwiches
Blue and red can meet in the middle with these Election Day tea sandwiches! Slather blueberry jam onto one piece of bread and add strawberry jelly to the other. Press the slices together and cut the one larger sandwich into four smaller versions. You can also use a cookie cutter to create patriotic stars or another themed shape.
