Family Activities for Parents’ Day
You’ve already celebrated Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. But what about Parents’ Day? This special day happens annually in July and gives children across the globe the chance to show their parents or caregivers just how important they are. What can you do to mark Parents’ Day?
Make a Parents’ Day meal as a family or with multiple generations (grandparents, parents and children). Pick a favorite family recipe that’s been handed down from parent to child for decades—or longer! Work in the kitchen together, asking younger kids to mix and measure. After the meal prep is done, sit down together for a fun family feast.
Break out the paper and tempera paints (or crayons) and create parent portraits. Sit with your child as they draw or paint your picture. Display the artwork in the house on this special day and every day after!
Are you looking for an easy way to sit and relax together on Parents’ Day? Choose a beloved book or pick one that has a parent-child theme. Create a cozy reading nook, filling the area with pillows. Curl up together and read, asking your child to point to pictures of parents or talk about what their parents (you or another caregiver) mean to them.
