St. Patrick’s Day Activities for Kids
If you’re looking for a few fun-filled family activities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, check out these easy ideas. Whether you’re in charge of your child’s school party, you’re having a few friends over or you just need at-home options to keep the kiddos busy, these ideas are low-prep, low-mess and budget friendly!
St. Patrick’s Day Play
Ask your child to pick their favorite St. Patrick’s Day-themed book. Read the book together, noting the names of the characters, the sequence of events and the setting. Turn the book into a play to perform for family and friends. Make your own costumes (use dress-up clothes or cut arm and head holes in paper shopping bags to make paintable shirts/dresses), paint a backdrop and craft props.
St. Patrick’s Day Math
Cut out a few dozen paper shamrocks. Use a stencil or cookie cutter as a template for the shapes. Have your child count the shamrocks 1 through 10. Label each with a numeral. Use the rest of the shamrocks to represent basic math equations, such as one shamrock plus one shamrock equals two shamrocks.
St. Patrick’s Day Book-Making
Create your own holiday book. Fold several pieces of construction paper into a book. Staple the left side or use a hole punch to make two holes (thread yarn or ribbon through the holes to bind the book). Ask your child to draw their own holiday-themed story with crayons or markers.
