Battered Onion Rings
Prep Time: 15-20
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 2 to 3 large
vidalia onions
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp.
sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp.
shortening, melted
Instructions:
- Heat shortening
to 375°F.
- Peel and slice onions into 1/4-inch slices; seperate into
rings.
- Sift flour with baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Combine milk,
egg, and melted shortening, add to dry ingredients all at once and
beat until smoooth.
- Dip onion rings into batter and fry until golden
brown. Turn once to brown evenly.
