Seal & Signature/autograph Of Two-time Maine Governor, Burton M. Cross (1950's):
For sale here is a vintage (1950s) Maine State Seal and signed/autographed business card (3 1/4" x 1 5/8") of two-time Maine Governor, Burton M. Cross (11/15/1902 to 10/22/1998). Mr. Cross also served in the Maine House of Representatives and Senate, where he was President of the Senate from 1945 to 1952. During his term as Governor, Cross' appointment of political supporters to various positions (including the Maine State Supreme Court) became controversial. He was ultimately defeated in 1954 by Democrat Edmond Muskie, who would later run a failed campaign for President of the United States in 1972.
I am not an expert in autographs/political memorabilia but I'd say these items are in "very good" to "excellent" condition. The signed business card has an indentation on it that looks like it may have been paper-clipped at some point. Please refer to the pictures for reference and let me know if you have any questions. The items pictured are the EXACT items the high buyer will receive.
