Easy Thansgiving Treat Ideas
Do you need a dozen cute cupcakes, cookies or other baked goods for your kiddo’s Thanksgiving party at school. Instead of spending the day in the kitchen by yourself, check out these easy ideas that the kids can help to make.
Turkey Cupcake Cake
Turn a box of cupcakes into a turkey-shaped cake for everyone to enjoy! Either bake your favorite recipe or use a ready-to-mix version. Arrange the bakes cupcakes into the shape of a turkey. Create a larger oval with a smaller circle at the top. Frost the cakes to look like one turkey. Add a beak and eyes at the top of the turkey and use brown or tan frosting for the body and feathers.
Melt chocolate in the microwave. Break apart the chocolate into smaller pieces, place it in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it in 15-second increments, stirring it in between heating sessions. Don’t allow your child to touch the hot chocolate or the bowl. Dip the top part of rod pretzels in the chocolate and place them on a wax paper-covered pan. Have your child spoon yellow, orange and white sprinkles onto the chocolate before it hardens.
Use ready-made sugar cookies as a base for this crafty cookie idea. Your child can cover the cookies with chocolate frosting, add candy eyes and create a turkey face with icing and a thin brush or toothpick.
