July 4th Crafts for Kids
Celebrate the Fourth of July with plenty of fun-filled family-friendly crafts! Your creative kiddo can mark the holiday and get artsy with these easy ideas.
Glitter and Glue Fireworks
Re-create July 4th fireworks in glitter. Your child can design their own holiday display, drawing a firework design with clear-drying school glue. Pour the glue onto a paper plate or a piece of scrap cardboard. Your child can use a toothpick or a thin paintbrush to draw the firework lines onto a piece of black card stock paper. Sprinkle different colors of glitter onto the glue and shake off the excess.
Your little artist can collage their own American flag for the Fourth of July. Tear apart pieces of red, white and blue construction and tissue paper. Help your child to draw the outline of an American flag on a piece of white card stock paper. Start with the stripes, using glue to cover each area. Your child can press the paper onto the glue, overlapping the edges. Continue with the collage until the entire flag is filled.
July 4th Banner
Decorate your holiday party or family get-together with a kid-created banner. Reuse an old twin-sized bed sheet as a background. Place thick, flat cardboard under the sheet to protect the surface under it. Use fabric paints or fabric markers to draw a holiday design or write, “Happy Fourth of July!”
