Fourth of July Backyard Buffet Ideas
What should your July 4th party menu include? Along with the usual suspects, such as burgers and dogs, you can add a festive touch with a red, white and blue bar. Set up the buffet in the backyard, ask the kids to help prep the awesome items and give your guests a patriotic treat! Check out these different ‘bar’ ideas for your big holiday bash.
Give your party guests the chance to make their own sandwiches, using red, white and blue ingredients. Include bread (white bread and other light-colored choices), raspberry jelly, strawberry jam and blueberry preserves. Another option is to give guests cream cheese to slather on the bread. Add sliced red and blue berries to the top for a patriotic play on the flag’s colors.
Ice Cream Bar
This sweet treat may melt quickly in the summer sun. If you can’t keep the ice cream bar indoors, make sure the guests use the ingredients immediately after it’s set up. Include vanilla, cherry and blue raspberry flavors as a base. Provide plenty of toppings—such as red, white and blue sprinkles, whipped cream and cherries.
Bake plenty of cupcakes ahead of time. Give guests red, white and blue frosting and decorating options. The partygoers can frost their own cupcakes, add sprinkles or cover the treats in sliced fruit.
