Kids’ Hanukkah Menorah Puzzle
You’re looking for a fun-filled way to celebrate Hanukkah with the kids. Combine art and problem-solving with this menorah puzzle project. And bonus, you can reuse everyday items to make this a recycled kids’ craft! Gather together popsicle sticks (making sure to thoroughly clean and dry them first) to use for this Hanukkah activity. If you don’t have enough on hand, you can buy craft sticks at an arts and crafts supply store.
Materials You’ll Need
- Craft sticks (you’ll need enough to make the menorah’s base and one for each night of the holiday)
- Water color or tempera paints
- Paint the popsicle sticks. Your child can either use water colors or thicker temperas. You can also combine the two, using water colors for some of the sticks and temperas for the others, Paint one side, let the sticks dry, turn them over and then paint the other side.
- Puzzle together the sticks! It’s that easy. Your child will use the painted popsicle sticks to create their very own menorah. Start with one candle (popsicle) on the first night, two on the second and so on.
Clean the menorah up each night, storing it in a plastic zipper baggies. Take it out the next night and let your child rebuild the holiday puzzle!
