Here for your consideration is an Iconic American Tube Radio – the Bright Green Catalin Emerson 400 Aristocrat Radio from 1940. This is a Beautiful Bright Green with dark swirls with Jet Black grill, knobs, and handle. You just don’t see Catalin radios in this bright green!! This radio was designed by the famous Industrial Designer Norman Bel Geddes to celebrate Emersons 25th anniversery. This 11“ x 8“ x 6“ set is a fabulous POP ART design. This is a True American Icon, and the Blue variant can be seen on the American Industrial Designers series of USPS Postage stamps that came out two years ago. This one is all original, had one hairline in the cabinet from the lower left and goes part way across the bottom. Difficult to see on the front. This catalin radio was polished to a bright sheen by the previous owner. I had my tech friend Tom repaired the electronics of this 5 tube set- replacing the capacitors. It plays loud and clear- picking up many stations across the entire AM band. The dial glows beautifully for night time enjoyment. This rare, wonderfully designed set needs to be in all good radio collections. Light weight for favorable shipping costs for my USA and foreign friends.
