★ Nice 18th Century Dutch Naval Boarding Axe With Amsterdam And Makers Name ★:
Here is anice18th century Dutch naval boardingaxein good originalcondition. The nicely shapediron headhas dark surface areasfrom genuine age. On one side of the bladeit has the Amsterdam town mark which is three x's in a vertical line which can be seen in the photos. On the other side of the blade are two makers names which I can only read the first one which is 'Braun' there is a '-' symbol between 'Braun' and the other faint name. The original wooden handle has its original tarred/black painted surface with the end of the handle carved in the same shape commonly seen on an oar or paddle. The iron head is secured onto the handle withtwo iron langet strapswhich also protect the neck area of the handle. In total measuring 17 inches long. The head measures 9.4 inches wide with a3.5 inch longblade. Provenance - was purchased in Amsterdam.
