11 inch- Antique Reproduction ~ 1914 Rose O’Neill “Kewpie”

The name “Kewpies” comes from “Cupids”, meaning small body, chubby and round, small starfish hands. Top Knot is look of baby hair pushed up from sleepy time nap.

Side glancing Lilac/Hazel eyes are glass and set-in. Soft short charcoal eyelashes, and short blonde/brown eyebrows.

Hair is painted a Blonde Brown, and is molded in at top, sides and back, base of the head. Care has been taken to use the finest of China paint and Porcelain for this

"Kewpie Doll"

This Classic cute “kewpie” Doll can be posed in various positions, as the legs are jointed at the knee, hip, and arm. Also the socket head allows turning from side to side, or glance down for cute poses.

“Kewpie” is wearing a hand crocheted outfit (Hat and Pantaloons) of, Lilac and Maroon Ecru thread. I’ve added an extra neck or head band when hat isn’t worn.

All crochet work done with high quality thread. Single, double and half crochet stitches, in a Shell pattern, throughout. Pantaloons have ruffle shell stitches at the waist. Lilac band, adorns bottom of pantaloons. Silk ribbon adorns Hat and Pantaloons.
