~ Early Low Matching Serial Number Chelsea Ship Bell Clock ~ :
This sale will feature an 'ANTIQUE CHELSEA SHIP'S BELL CLOCK'. 4 inch dial with Roman Numeral numbers and marked ' Chelsea Clock Co - Boston, USA '. Screw-off front bezel - glass looks to be original but I can't say for sure...? Very low serial # 17440 which puts it around 1900 to maybe 1903. I've had it running for about 4 hours and it's keeping the correct time. Strikes the proper ship's bell sequence - advances on strike per half hour up to 4 hours (eight bells) and then starts over again with one strike. The movement has a matching serial number to the case and is well marked. Movement is dusty and would benefit from a cleaning. The lacquer on the brass case could use a polish if desired. Overall condition is excellent plus. Silvering on the dial is very good noting a couple of light scratches and light loss between the II and III. No damage, dents or issues with the case or bezel. Some old putty or ..? on the back that scratches with a thumbnail - also no damage or abuse. Very nice early example by the top maker of ship clocks in the world...buyer Note: 1. No early sales 2. I do not take returns on clocks due to unscrupulous buyers who have in the past, switched movements or parts and then attempted to return the clock. Sale is Final - No Returns. buyer inspection is welcome by appointment... US Buyer pays $15.50 Priority Shipping)
Thank you ...

buyer Note: Got conflicting information on the serial number and corresponding date. Might be 1904 - 1909. Check the Chelsea site to see what they say...
Yes, the clock is still running perfectly and striking the correct bells after 5 days with no rewind... Thanks for the interest and Good Luck
