OVER 100 YEARS OLD!!! Breathtaking Japanese Kimono made of pure crepe silk in a special order color with unbelievable 3-dimensional embroidery and full silk crepe lining. . The embroidery is scattered all over the garment in the theme of glorious floral blooms in different patterns. This Gorgeous one of a kind creation was made for the store, \"A A Vantines\", and still retains it\'s original label from the year 1912 which reads, \"\"Vantines...5th Avenue\". A A Vantine pioneered the retailing of goods from Japan and the far east beginning in the 1860\'s and this item has a label from the store right after it relocated from 18th and Broadway to Fifth Ave. and 39th Street in 1912.

This garment is unique and was probably a one-off special order for a VERY important customer...it\'s fuchsia/magenta color is totally unlike any other color ever offered by them. Catalogue listings of colors available were ivory, pink, lavender, emerald green, old blue, old rose, yellow, black, gold, grey, navy, tangerine, plum...but NOT MAGENTA. It showsno evidence of having been worn; it\'s padded hem is in perfect condition and no fading anywhere on the garment. There are some very small holes near the label but only in the liningand the collar has some wear on one side from hanger rubbing (please see pictures). There is one almost imperceptible stain on the lower rear; it is so inconsequential I couldn\'t get a picture of it . The sash is missing. The size is free size...will fit small - xxl and is 53\" from top to bottom and 57\" from the end of one sleeve to the other. In an effort to capture the beauty of this knock-out I have photographed it indoors and outside. This is the only time it has ever been in direct sunlight and only briefly. I have owned it for 50 years in a pet free and smoke free home.
