Up for sale is this very nice Antique Black Forest Cuckoo Quail Clock made by George Kuehl & Company about 1905. The clock is in very good working condition. The movement has been cleaned. restored with bushings and oiled. The tubes have new bellow tops and produce a very nice deep sound. The clock does keep time but will most likely need to be readjusted after shipping. The wood carvings have some chips here and there and some repairs but it does not distract from the overall appearance. The clock is 21 inches high, not counting the weights and pendulum, 17 inches wide and 10 inches deep. The dial is 6 inches wide and retains it's original numerals and bone hands. The birds are both original and are mounted on wood perches, which indicate a earlier clock. The leaf pendulum is original and has a few chips on the ends. The weights are not original but work well with the movement and operation of the clock. The movement has the stamp GK which is the makers mark of George Kuehl & Co of Chicago ILL. This company was one of the largest importers of Black Forest Clocks at the turn of the 20th century. They continued their operation till the end of the 1920's. The clock is being sold AS IS and with NO RETURNS so please look at at all the pictures and ASK QUESTIONS if you are not sure about something. Paypal is welcome.
