~ Antique Gearhart Sock Knitting Machine ~ 62 Cyl & 36 Ribber Dial ~ Vtg Sewing:
Offered is an old sock knitting machine. I'm pretty sure it's a Gearhart, but lacking any tags or other labels, the model is unknown to me. I expect folks interested will know lots more about it than me. (I'd love to know more about it, even if it's after the sale.) It came from the disposition of a small town farm and tractor museum in Pike County, Illinois. The machine is a heavy and well-made thing. It's about 18 inches tall and weighs over 15 pounds. I count 62 slots in the cylinder and 36 in the dial. The machine has light corrosion throughout, from less-than-ideal display conditions, but isn't rusted solid. The needles are about the worst and will likely need to be replaced. I can't find anything anywhere than is broken, bent or otherwise damaged. The crank turns about 100 degrees before it doesn't want to go any farther. All I did was blow this off with compressed air. I think it will clean up and work OK, but that work should be done by someone with some skill. I believe there are some parts or accessories not present. Please look the pictures over closely.
Winner pays for USPS Priority in the USA. Can go Parcel Select if it is significantly cheaper. I do not profit from shipping and do my best to keep it safe at lowest cost. International buyers please be aware that you will be responsible for any Import or Customs fees. International buyers please email for shipping. I may be able to offer something cheaper. I am also selling a 56-slot cylinder in a separate sale. Given the weight, it may not save much on shipping.

A most kind and helpful er has informed me that the cylinder I have running in a separate sale is not Gearhart cylinder, and thus does not go with this machine. On Jul-07-13 at 16:03:05 PDT, seller added the following information:
Thanks to kind and sharp-eyed fellow er, I've discovered that it is actually a 72-slot cylinder. I regret the error, and buyers up to 6PM CST, 7-7-13 are off the hook if they wish. Just let me know.
Thanks and Good Luck, Skip
