Antique Simon & Halbig Bisque Head And Arms German Doll~beautiful Eyes 719 Mold:
This is an antique Simon and Halbig German doll my mother had in a glass case from her doll collection. Simon and Halbig were known for their superior quality and painting techniques. It says S9H 719 DEP on the back of the neck. The mold number 719 is from one of their earliest molds. Most likely from the late 1800's. It still has a beautiful colored porcelain bisque head. The arms and hands are also bisque and the body is leather. The clothes look original and old.
I don't see any chips or cracks on the head and arms, except a small place on one ear, and end of her finger. I can't tell with a magnifying glass if it is chipped or if it was made that way. The doll looks dirty and needs to be cleaned. There is a mark on her cheek and a couple tiny dots on the other. I do not know if they come off as I have not tried to clean it and don't know how. I have not tried to take off her wig or clothes except for her underwear for the photos. They are very old and fragile. Her wig is coming apart. There are fade spots, a few tears on the dress and on some of the undergarments, and look old. The leather body is still firm but has some old yellow marks, small holes and is split in places where the sawdust is coming out. There are old band aids on some of the tears of the body. One arm is completely off and the other is just barely hanging there. She has beautiful blue glass eyes and an open mouth with two front teeth and one or two bottom teeth behind. Her ears are pierced. The doll is approximately 21 inches and the bisque part of her arms are approximately 4 1/2 inches. Please see the 12 photos as part of the description. Thank you

I have tried to gently clean her face with a q-tip, soap and water. The marks on her face do come off. Also, the head is in a shoulder plate and it seems to swivel a little up and down, but not sideways. The shoulder plate is not scratched or chipped. On Jul-29-13 at 21:46:59 PDT, seller added the following information:
