C1925 Morocco Moroccan Jewish Passover Seder Tray Sephardic Antique Judaica:
Incredibly thick and heavy brass, weighs 4 pounds, 8 ounces. 19 inches in diameter. No damage or repairs. Dates to circa 1925 from Fez, Morocco.
I recently acquired this tray from someone who got it as a gift many years ago from a family who hailed from Fez, Morocco. The center states in Hebrew "Three Matzahs", then around that are the places labeled for the ceremonial foods (Bitter Herbs, etc.), then around that the order of the Passover Service, and yet around that verses from Exodus about leaving Egypt interspersed with grape and fish designs. Shown in the black and white photo is from a 1974 Israel Museum publication on the objects of the Jews of Morocco, these pages show two brass Passover trays.
