Nice Midshipman\'s dirk from around a break of 18th - 19th century, Napoleonic wars era. Most likely French in origin with a round section carved ebony grip having few age splits but remaining solid, brass crossguard, ferule and large pommel all showing dark patina and some scratches to the pommel. Wearing a straight double edged blade of diamond section, exhibiting heavy patina throughout and areas of fine pitting. Slight play to the guard, the rest is solid.overall 12 1/4\" blade 9\".
