These cabachons were sometimes called intaglios, rosettes, reverse crystals or "Cabs". They date back to the 1940's and 1950's and are considered to be extremely rare and highly collectible. These "cabs" or cabachons contain intaglio images or scenes. Each piece was hand painted into a reverse carved image. These amazing pieces of art were first manufactured during the Victorian era. Because they are so tiny and intricate it is difficult to manufacture them today. Current high manufacturing costs make producing these crystals cost prohibitive. As a result, these crystals have become sought after rarities and collectors items.
Anything available now has survived over the years and is not a new item.
Thisis areal collectors item...don't it get away. This is a very unusual size and shape with the Horse. It truly is amazing, and all hand done.
I am happy to combine shipping for up to 5 days, and I can usually ship 3 or 4 items for the original shipping charge.
The Post Office now charges $2.54 for postage per a 1 ounce package. Then you need to add in the tracking fee. The cost of my bubble envelope, the cost of wrapping supplies, paper, more bubble wrap, tape, printer ink, etc. really adds up…and it is not free, I have to pay for it. This packaging is necessary to make sure these glass pieces arrive in one piece and undamaged. My wrapping has evolved over the years, as the Post Office pays no attention to a package marked fragile! This does not include any money for my time, or the price of gas to and from the Post Office.
Also, what no one is aware of.../paypal now takes 9% of the shipping fees right off of the top as part of their charges.
I MAKE NO MONEY ON SHIPPING…..IN FACT, I DON’T EVEN BREAK EVEN.
PLEASE BEFORE YOU DOWNGRADE ME ON SHIPPING COSTS BE AWARE OF WHAT POSTAGE NOW REALLY COSTS. Thank you.
