We are very please to be offering a very Rare Jacob Petit Porcelain Encrier Inkstand Standish Mid 19th Century Circa 1850.The base is marked J.P in blue for Jacob Petit. It is fantastically modeled with a recumbent Bull Mastiff flanked by a ink pot and pounce pot with two pen/ quill holders.The shaped rectangular base is decorated in a green-ground and highlighted with flowers,the base is modeled with a central shell and raised on four scroll feet enriched in Gilt.For your interest one sold at Christie\'s New York on the 17th of July 2007 Sale no 1931 lot no 413 and the price realised USD $2,040 and you can still look at the sale on the internet.Condition is very good for a item of its type and use with the only damage to the rims of the lift out pounce pot and ink pot which at some time in the past have been professionally restored.Please look at our full condition report and images and zoom in as they are part of our condition report and description.
