The Kaiser \'Universe\' clocks will probably go down in history as the finest 400 Day Clock ever made. This clock was imported into the United States in late 1953 and 1954. Unfortunately they were expensive to make, and therefore expensive to buy at a time when pressure was mounting to have manufacturers lower their factory prices. Also of this, J. Kaiser was using the name \'Universe\', which had already been trade marked by a U.S. watch importer. This forced Kaiser to give up the name or face a court challenge. There were probably no more than a few thousand of these clocks produced. Both the movement and pendulum design were very different from the designs used up to that time. The actual pendulum is placed beneath the base and when making time adjustments the movement of the weights cannot actually be observed.
