ABOUT THIS ITEM:

This beautiful cup is marked with the old German hallmark 12, which is 750/1000 pure silver, the other 250/1000 consists of copper.

The ear of this cup is emphatically performed in the Louis Quinze style, characterized by exuberant and curly decorations.

The engraved decoration is worn but still quite well visible.

Made between 1750-1780, the maximum height is 6.9 cm, the maximum width is 4.9 cm, the weight is 46.1 grams.

The ear of the cup has been restored (decent) earlier, see picture nr 5, the pictures show the other usage traces.

German silver from the 18th century is much rarer than 19th century German silver, especially during the Napoleontic wars many silver objects have been melted by the civilians in their battle to survive.

Rarely offered, take a look in the section \"Pre-1800 Antique German Silver\" you see a few 18th- century cups, this gives you the possibility to compare the prices.
