A TYPOGRAPHICAL MARVEL IN GREEKThe Book:

Woodcut headpieces and initials printed in red on A1 and in black elsewhere. 18th century red morocco gilt, worn and rubbed, heavily restored, rebacked; internally, A1 browned with stain in upper margin, last leaf with Giunta emblem toned, otherwise generally a very good copy.
A Handsome specimen of Greek typography by one of the great Italian Renaissance printing families. Filippo Giunta had previously issued Aristophanes' comedies in 1515; this new edition was prepared by Antonio Francini and the Cretan Apostolis Arsenios. Published here for the first time are new scholia as well as 948-1011 of the Pax not found in the Aldine 1498 Editio Princeps or the 1515 Giunta I.
