Here we have aVintage C. L. BERGER & SONS, BOSTON Turned Solid Brass Surveyor\'s Plumb Bob, BEAN\'S Patent.This Bean\'s patented bob is Rarely seen !! This is the H. A. Bean, Jr. 12/10/1963 patent for a plumb bob with a retractable point. My pics show a copy of the patent and the buyer will get a copy. This is a Berger & Sons example of this patent and the side of the bob is stamped BERGER-16. The bobis 5-5/8\" L and has a 1-3/8\" dia. body. It weighs approx. 15.4 oz. ( 16 oz. bob) The brass body is in Excellent \'used tool\' conditionwith a nice smooth finish. Brass has a very nice aged patina. No owners marks. It has a cap with nice knurling that unscrews and through which you attach your string. This one definitely belongs in your collection !
