Rare Vintage Karen Hmong Hill Tribe Traditionalthailand Hat Headdress:
HARD TO FIND ---VINTAGEOffered is a beautiful handmade Karen Hill headdress. It comes from the hill people of Burma/Northern Thailand. The Karen tribe is thought to be the largest tribe of the hill people. This fabulous headdress is made from woven rattan and decorated with metal disks, seed beads, strands of heishi type beads, tassels, and coins. Please look at the pictures to see all the intricate decorations. Two strings of beads came loose. One is a white string from the back which is temporarily tied on and the other is a darker seed string show in the 8th picture. There are so many strings of seeds and beads that you really can't tell that any came off.( It is sitting on a candlestick holder-not included- with branches--that is the part you see underneath.)The hat/headdress is about 17 inches high from the top of the hat to the bottom of the fringe. It is about 9 inches wide.Don't miss this opportunity to own this fabulous headdress. This type is getting harder and harder to find as more modern cloth types are being made.
