Six coloured lithographs by H. c.Paris, Morier, about 1875. 16"x 20" with frame. 15" x 12 " (sheet size).Beautiful large-format lithographs by HIPPOLYTE LALAISSE (FR, 1812-1884).signed in the stone (Lalaisse) .
Lithographs are in vg vintage cond. Frames are various conditions, but clean and tight.
Hippolyte Lalaisse was born in Nancy in 1812. Pupil of Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet, he became professor of drawing at the Ecole Polytechnique.He specializes in animal representation, especially dogs and horses, but also in military uniforms and regional costumes.He exhibited at the Salon between 1845 and 1874. At the same time, he also had a great deal of engraving.These military plates are part of a series of lithographs which he carried out around 1860. In horsemen, the quality of treatment of the horse is observed.He died in Paris in 1884.
