You are offerding on the best example of a Sorayama Print. A Printers Proof (PP) # 1 out of 10 (1/10) This print, #84 in the Sorayama collection, is in pristine condition. It has never been framed and it is still flat and not rolled in a tube. This print depicts Betty Page and is affectionately known as \"Tiger Tamer\" It is signed by both Hajime Sorayama AND Betty Page both signatures in gold pen which is also extremely rare to find. It is stamped on the back as well (see photo) to also verify its authenticity. It is a sold out print and very hard to find especially as a printers proof and probably the first print of this limited edition lithograph set. I\'m letting this go as I have the Printers Proof # 2 framed and hanging on my wall. Betty Page died in 2008.
Due to the rarity of this item it will be professionally shipped flat in order to maintain its artistic and monetary integrity. In my opinion, this is truly the mother of all Sorayama Lithographs.This Lithograph is an Artist\'s Proof. Only 10 were made. Artist\'s Proofs are a preliminary subset edition used by the printer, publisher and artist to achieve the best possible prints in the regular limited edition. Usually they will sell faster than the regular edition. They may contain subtle differences from the original limited edition. Artist\'s Proofs typically number between 5-10% of the total edition. They generally are considered a status symbol in the art collecting world, bringing their resale value proportionally higher than the original limited edition.
