For your consideration we offer this classic Mid-Century modern Lotus Vase #7914 by Steuben in Near Mint Condition. This particular vase was made between the late 1940\'s to the mid 1950\'s during Steuben\'s height of quality production, and was beautifully executed. We\'ve had about 5 or 6 in this pattern over my 40 years in the jewelry business and collecting crystal art glass and other fine collectables. This vessel\'s lines are superb. Definitely blown by one of Steuben\'s finest gaffers. The vase has been in my possession for the past 20 years.It wasacquired by me from one of Long Island\'s most prominent families with about 20 other best quality Steuben pieces. Please note, there are a few Lotus Vases currently listed online, See pictures of them all and decide for yourself, this one is hands down \"The pic of the litter.\"

CONDITION: Near Mint Cond. Unused;no nicks, chips, cracks, fractures, water marks, cloudiness, or repairs. Note:1 very small flea bite to the underside of one of the appliedappliqués,where it meets the bottom of the vase, see underside pics. Vase also has very subtle extremely faint small scuffs to the under side of the base commensurate with age. Commonlyreferredto as light shelf wear. Complete with original grey flannel Steuben pouch.

MEASUREMENTS: 10\" Tall and 6\" across the opening of the vessel

Steuben Glass Works, an American glass manufacturer established by Frederic C. Carder in 1903 which closed its doors in 2012, produced over its century+ years of existence art glass on the same level and desirability as Tiffany. In 1933 under the supervision of Arthur A. Houghton, Jr., Steuben ceased production of the older styles of glass and began producing more modern simpler designs emphasizing truth to the materials and incorporating curvaceous shapes naturally formed during the molten glass stage. Steuben hired many well-known artists and architects over the years to design their glassware capturing the world\'s attention.

Steuben Glass designed and manufactured objects exclusively of arevolutionary clear-glass formula that Corning chemists had just developed in the 1930\'s for optical applications. Asuperior pure lead crystal called 10M, this new glass was unlike all previous crystal formulas. So pure that it did not require the addition of decolorizing agents nor facets. Corning\'s 10M was also the first glass to admit the full spectrum of light, (Roy G Biv) including ultraviolet rays, giving it an extremely high index of refraction that gave every Steuben object a visual brilliance and unsurpassed clarity.
