\"STEUBEN\" on Art Deco Blown Amethyst Glass VASE, Italian Pairpoint Sinclair Era:
$75.00

Circa 1920\'s-30\'s amethystartglass vase with vertical rib optic, rough pontil mark, unknown maker, measures 11-3/4\" high x 4-5/8\" top rim diameter. The bottom of the vase is acid stamped\"Steuben\". The Carder Steuben Club informed methatthissignature is a forgerythat does not match any of the known Steuben marks. I was also told that forged Steuben marks are common on both authentic Steuben and glass produced by other companies. It\'spossible the vase could be authentic Steuben with a forged signature (again, this is common) or it could have been produced by a competing American company such as Pairpoint or Sinclair. Or the vase could be Italian, it isvery similar to designs producedby Napoleone Martinuzzi, Vittorio Zecchin and Venini & Co. durning the 1920\'sand 1930\'s. One thing is certain, the vase is a beautiful example ofvintage hand-blown glass.
