Victorian Or Edwardian French Jet Brooch With C Clasp - Early 1900s:
Offering a lovely French jet brooch that is approximately 1-3/4 inches long x 9/16" wide. It is has a C" CATCH, which is a simple bend of metal shaped like the letter C. The C type catch was primarily used on hand-made jewelry during 1850 and 1920. The jet beads are secured with what appears to be brass rivets on the underneath to secure the jet, which is uncommonly found. Jet was the most common material used for mourning jewelry.
