Vintage German Rubber GOTZ\'s Biggest Mandolin Guitar Pick - over 50 years old:
$9.99

Here is a rare Gotz Vintage Rubber Mandolin* Pick. aka: Vulcan Rubber, Ebonite
This is the largest of 3 mandolin Sizes the company offered (sale is for Size \"A\" in the Guide)The Gotz company is located in what was East Germany and they\'ve been in business since 1884. They\'ve offered picks going
back to at least the 1920\'s and a copy of a 1960 catalog page given to me by Klaus, grandson of the founder, shows this pick for
sale. This type of rubber pick was only produced in Germany and they are apparently difficult to make. Steve Ball went through
great expense trying to have them produced for King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp only to conclude that while worthy, still
lacked the same level of quality of the German picks. If your a mandolinist, this might be worth giving a try. Given its history it
ranks well among collectable vintage pieces. esp. under the category of Foreign Made and/or Exotic Materials pieces. Also worthy
of note is the imbedded corrugated grip. * this shape was often marketed as a mandolin pick but is of course usable on any
instrument requiring the use of a plectrum.Specs: 1-11/16\" Long, 7/8\" Max Width, .88mm approx Gauge, Medium FlexibilitySelect \"See Other Items\" in the upper right hand corner
of this page to view other rare, exotic or vintage guitar picks.
