Vintage Wilkins or Kingsbury Wind up Mechanical Fire pumper

Wilkins of Keene NH made these around 1910 - 1920

when they were bought out by Kingsbury Toys.

Very nicely designed toy with lots of detailed castings

combination of pressed steel, tin and wood

Working windup on the front wheel section

Gong mounted under the rear axle.

Wheels were designed with the rubber tires that slip over the metal rims

missing the steering wheel and one hand on the driver.

Otherwise a very nice version of this toy

approximately 10 inches long and 7 inches high
