Up for sale this week is a stunning Vogue Strung Ginny from 1952. This little darling has her original curly, carrot-red wig of soft, red hair in fat braids with curly, side-swept bangs. She has beautiful dark blue eyes framed in tan-olive eyebrows and eyelashes. Her eyes are in the open position, but can be manually closed, which is acceptable to most collectors. She has \"fever\" cheeks with no rubs! She istightly strung, can hold all poses, stands on her own, and has no cracks, splits, chews or odors. She has a nicerich, eventone to her body which matches her face color.She is marked on her back \"Vogue Doll\", and on her neck \"Vogue\".
She will come to her new, loving owner in the 1952 pink outfit \"Hope\" #27 of the Kindergarten series, complete with the original matching (rare) striped panties! The dress istagged with a skinny Vogue tag which reads simply \"Vogue\" which is in perfect condition. The \"Hope\" dressis a pink polished cotton dress with blue, white, pink and green vertical striped hem and \"suspender\" detail edged in tiny white rick rack trim. Theoutfit is pristine; free from stains, odors, tears or holes, and is still bright, not faded as manyare, and closes in back with the original hook and eye closure with no rust or corrosion. It has never been laundered. She wears the early (rare) matching striped panties with stretched waist being held closed with a tiny brass safety pin.
Because she had no socks or shoes, I have added pink socks and hand-made, vintage type, center snap shoes to complete her outfit.
This is an outstanding Ginny and will bea delight for any collector to own. You may view a similar early Ginny in an outfit made from \"leftover Hope fabric\" on page 112 of the Izen and Stover book, second edition ( purple cover) for verification.
