A very fine, scarce and original full size 'Old Contemptible' WW1 1914 Mons Star medal trio (Mons 1914 Star, War and Victory medals) to 38573 Driver Archibald Kimm 29th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, discharged 27.11.17 and awarded the Silver War Badge RA/1191 (not included in sale).29th Brigade R.F.A. reached Le Cateau on 24th August 1914 and the Royal Field Artillery played a crucial role in the ensuing battle and successful disengagement of the B.E.F. from the advancing German Army. The group is in excellent condition:
All medals are correctly impressed and unpolished, the Clasp and Rose are original, the Medal bar is original, as are all three silk ribbons.
The Mons Star Medal has Kimm's original Clasp and Rose sewn onto the ribbon.
