Ww1 Era, Us Model 1917, Remington, 16" Bayo W/ Leather Scabbard, Clean Piece For Sale
An Original, and Nice Example of a WW1 Era, US Model 1917, Remington, 16" Bayonet with the Leather and Metal Scabbard! This bayonet is in Very Nice condition, the blade finished in its original color! The bayonet was produced for the Model 17 Enfield Rifle. The piece is about 22-3/4" in overall length including the scabbard, the bayonet blade itself about 17" in length with a nice, untouched edge and nicely shaped blade. The blade has a fuller on each side and a pointed tip. The blade has the typical factory edge along the blade's length. The handle of the bayonet is wood with 2 screws, and the locking button works perfectly. The Wood Handle is in decent condition, with some wood dings! It is dark but has a nice carved look! The blade is marked with "1913 / 6 17 / REMINGTON" on one side and "Crossed out British Broad Arrow Proof / Crown / B3 / A / US" on the other. This was apparently a Bayonet sold to the British Army for their Enfield rifles, then re-arsenalized for the US Model 1917 Rifle upon the US entry into WW1! The Leather and metal scabbard is quite nice, with some nice markings on the leather "EWELL 1918" and "MSL" on the metal sections. The scabbard is fitted with the hooks or staples for wear into a web belt and the bayonet fits perfectly into the scabbard, as it should! Overall, this is a Very Nice WW1 Era, US Model 1917 Remington, 16" Bayonet! This is just a Nice example for the collection or to add to a rifle! I will leave any cleaning to the Winning buyer! Winning buyer to add $12.35 postage and handling. PA Residents to add 6% state sales tax. Good Luck and Happy offerding!!!
