Liver of Sulphur XL Gel in a ONE OUNCE flip-top bottle! The neat flip top pourable bottle which decreases mess and improves ease of use. This is what you use to oxidize or add a custom patina to many metals including raw copper, tombac andbrass. It also works great to blacken (oxidize) sterling, fine and thai silver.XGel comes in a premixed gel form that is not only much easier to work with, but is it is specially formulated to have an extended shelf life of many times that of regular liver of sulphur. Give it a quick stir and it is ready to use. If it's too cold to stir, heat it up for 15 seconds in a microwave to lessen viscosity. Use caution, however, as it will be very hot. XL Gel can be brushed on becauseIt is thick enough not to run.
To make a dark patina solution, just mix one teaspoon of XL Gel in 12 oz. of heated water (around 140deg F). Use lower temperature water to make light patina solution. An advantage with this squeeze bottle is that you have better control over portioning and application. This 1oz. bottle will make 6, 12 ounce portions of a dark patina solution.
