Prayer for the Dew
Hebrew liturgical hymn composed by great Rabbi Elezar Biribi ben Kalir אלעזר בן קליר (or Kallir, Killir) between 1000 & 1400 years ago, most probably in Israel (Kiryat-Sefer). Rabbi Elezar was one of the earliest payyetanim. He signed his father’s name in acrostics. Over 200 of his poems reached our time and many are included in Ashkenasi Mahzorim. Rabbi Elezar also composed most of Kinot for Tisha B’Av. Some of his piyutim were found in Cairo Geniza 100 years ago.
Verses of Rabbi Kalir's poem are on the border. Running deer, singing birds, floral ornaments & word "Tal"/ Dew on face.
