I am pleased to offer you this lovely antique bisque shoulder headdoll with molded blouse.I do not know her past restoration history but will try to describe her the best I can. Reference shows similar dolls made in the late 1800s to early 1900s, such makers as ABG, Hertwig, Kestner & other German Firms. Incised on the back of her bisque shoulder plate is possibly "138 on the left and 2 on the right". I can't be sure if there are other numbers as I did not remove this shoulder head, it is secure on the body, I just lifted the leather a bit on the back from the leather tab on the shoulder which was a little loose. It will need a small touch of glue in this area to secure the leather back to the body.Doll measures 14" tall being a bisque shoulder head with molded blouse, thereare remains of gold paint on this blouse from her painted moldedbow.Looking at her head I see an old surface line crack on the back neck area (photo #5). Doll has brush stroked curly molded blonde hair with deep center part. Her face is lovely with pale blue eyes, black liner over the eye lids with a deeper coral almost brown color liner over the black liner. She has wrap around brown eye brows, closed mouth with long accent line through her "heart shaped" lips. This is a known trait of Hertwig. Rose color blush accents her white bisque face. Her arms from elbow down are bisque with fingers intact, body is kid leather with gussets at the knees, behind, and elbows. There is stitching around the ankles as you find on some Kestner dolls. Body is old and worn but all together.I do not know if this body is orig to this shoulder head, it may not be, this is how I purchased her.Her old dress has a satin feel, there are lace accents and snaps down the front with little buttons over the snaps. Dress is worn, fragil and torn in places but charming. I do not know if it can be repaired or restored. Doll wears a full slip with attached panties, half slip, stockings and vintage shoes.I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at myphotos they will serve as part of this description.
