This is an opportunity to buy a very rare item - a Licensed New York World's Fair 14K yellow gold Unisphere charm/Pendant. This item is in its original condition - it has been stored inits original unopened plastic bag for the past 40 years (the photos are of one that was opened but, the one you are offerding on is still in its bag as shown in one of the pictures below). It still has its original tag with the United States Steel logo (United States Steel donated the Unisphere to the 1964-65 World's Fair). These charms came inseveralsizes andthis sale is for thesmaller size of the two sizes that I have (I think that it was originally thesmallest size).

This charm was originally sold by Marchal Jewelers of New York City and manufactured by The Charles Stone Jewelry Corp. also of New York City. Marchal Jewelers and Charles Stone Jewelry, under the name The World Charm Corporation, were the Official Licensees for all World's Fair 14K gold and sterling silver charm jewelry.

The charm weighs2.6 grams. It is stamped 14K and cWc (The World Charm Coroporation) on the bottom.

Only 5,000 of these were manufactured. Many were purchasedby visitors from outside of theU.S. and weretaken out of the country.

Charles Stone was my grandfather and a few of these charmswerestored away by my family since they were originally manufactured.

A little history(in case you're interested): In a offer to obtain the exclusive license to manufacture and sell these and other gold and silver jewelry for the World's Fair, my grandfather and his partners at Marchal created a large unispheremade ofplatinum and diamondsthat waslent to the City to use to promote the Fair. Here's a picture of my grandfather at his desk withthe that version of the Unisphere.(Unfortunately, that Unisphere was broken up and melted down shortly after the end of the Fair.) If you look towards the bottom left corner of the photo you can see two of the larger unisphere charms that aresimilar tothe one beingoffered in this sale (It's easier to see in the larger version of the picture below).
