Excellent South Bend 21 jewel model 2 grade 227 fully disassembled cleaned and oiled with high quality Swiss watch oil.The South Bend has a full gold train and gold jewel settings and is railroad grade all the way.The case is good with no brassing and both front and back covers turn on and off as they should.There is just alittle brassing to the bow which is common to these railroad watches.The glass crystal is nice with no scratching,the lever set hands are nice and blue with no corrosion.The Montgomery dial has a slight hairline through the 4.The movement is adjusted to 5 positions and is serial number 583056 with fancy damaskeening marked 227.The watch winds and the hands set smoothly.I will update the listing with total run time and time keeping accuracy which Is right on after 6 hours so far.A very nice piece of American watchmaking and railroad history from 1909 in great condition.

The 227 ran around 34 hours on a full wind and was within a minute of correct time after 24 hours.
