Directio Methodica Processus Iudiciarii Juris Consuetudinarij, Inclyti Regni Hungariae
Author: Kitonič, Jovan Kostajnički
Publication Location: Vienna, Austria
Date: 1634
354 Pages

Antique, early 17th century, hand-written-manuscript bound book from Hungary in fantastic condition! The book is dated 1638, written fully in Latin, and covers the topic of the judicial system and processes of the Kingdom of Hungary. All pages are in tact and without ripping or water-stains; there are, however, a couple frays on the edges of a few pages, but they are not at all prominent, and one slight tear on the upper margin of page 95. There are very few markings spread throughout the text; they are limited to a couple dates in the margin (from 1638) and a couple underlines from a quill pen. For the vast majority of the text, there are no markings.
ONE OF A KIND!! EXTREMELY RARE!!
The most impressive aspect of this publication is its binding; the books has a hardcover binding, though the boards were wrapped in an antique middle-ages manuscript; it was suggested that the manuscript is from the 14th century by an antique book appraiser at the local sale house. While there is wear to the manuscript from age, you can clearly make out some of the writings and markings. You can also see some of the larger letters, a few of which were written with red and green ink. Apparently in the 1600\'s it was cheaper to bind books in used leather than to use new leather. All in all, the book is in fantastic condition, and is a beautiful representation of antique publication techniques.

\"The Kingdom of Hungary was a monarchy in Central Europe that existed from the Middle Ages into the twentieth century (1000–1918, 1920–1946). The Principality of Hungary emerged as a Christian kingdom upon the coronation of the first king Stephen I at Esztergom in 1000 or 1001; his family (the Árpád dynasty) led the monarchy for 300 years. The Kingdom of Hungary became a middle power in Europe and was described as part of the Western world by the 12th century.\" <script browser does not support JavaScript. To view this page, enable JavaScript if it is disabled or upgrade your browser.
