Johann U. Mullerwas responsible for a world geography, 'Geographia totius orbis compendaria', containing some of the smallest maps ever printed. The 103 tiny maps were probably engraved by Gabriel C. Bodenehr and were published by Georg Kuhnen in Ulm, Germany in 1692. This map comes from that edition.
This attractive map ofthe Congo comes from a 1692 edition of 'Geographiae Universalis'.
The mapnamestowns and cities including S. Salvador, Benguela, Loanga, Dongo, Zaire, Pemba, Bamba. It shows theZaire Riverfrom the coast toLake Zaire, and a branch ofthe Nile River flows out of Lake Zaire; there is good detail to other topographical features.
The mapmeasures 2.5" by 3" on a full page of text,and haslater outline hand colouring, and is invery goodcondition.
