This is a RARE 17\"in Francois Gaultier BLACK French closed mouth Fashion Doll made for the North African tradecirca 1875. Her Head had been broken and professionally restored and this is virtually undetectable withoutclose inspection or the use of a black light source. She retains original wig, cork pate and silk garments which are frayed and faded. Her body is structurally in fine condition with wear only to the brown tint on the kid and small split at left thumb area on hand. She wears no shoes as this might have been intended.
