Here is a darling composition Debu’ Teen doll by Arranbee (R& B) – she came to me from the death estate sale of the original (and only)owner. This is a pre-teen dollwith flat chest, flat feet and child’s preteen body. She is 17” tall with beautifully painted facial features –gentle blush on peaches and cream complexion, light brown thin eyebrows, gray eyeshadow, peach lips, and blue gray sleep eyes with attached thick and full upperlashes. Her blonde hair wig isworn with side part and original hair ornament. The ash blonde wig is somewhat sparse in the back and whenhair is gently combed there is excessive hair loss. The wig is made of human hair. The doll is marked R & B on the back of the neck. The composition is in excellentcondition and there is gentle blush on both knees and elbows. Her clothes are original but unmarked(see page 60 in the Arranbee Dolls Identification Guide by Suzanne L. DeMillarand Dennis J. Brevik © 2004). Shewears full-length cotton petticoat with attached tap pants. The pink gauzy dress has hem ruffle,boat neck and is sleeveless with pink rayon lining, blue ribbon sash and metalsnap closures. Her socks are whiteribbed nylon and her shoes are silver with metal snap closures and small bowsover the instep with metal buckles.The shoes are worn at the toes and soles are present but the left one isloosely attached at the front of the shoe. The real fur jacket is fully lined with the remains of afloral boutonnière on the right shoulder.This is a fabulous old doll that has been lovingly preserved for morethan 75 years. It is to be notedthat according to the Arranbee book the Debu-Teen doll did not appear in anyadvertising after 1940 – no hard plastic dolls of this line or style were evermade. She is offered as picturedand described – the only flaw I see is the thinning of the hair.
