DESCRIPTION:
UP FOR ADOPTION here is an \"adorable\" German character baby doll. Incised on the back of his bisque head is \"Germany, 985, A 6 M\". Reference tells me baby was made in 1910+ Germany by doll maker Armand Marseille. I do not know his past history but will try to describe the best I can with any flaws/restorations I see. Doll measures 17\" tall being a bisque socket head on jointed composition baby doll body with all fingers and toes intact. Arms may have been re-painted,they are alittle darker in color than the torso, doll is strung fine and displays well. Scuffs, wear, built in dirt, paint loss throughout body for being 100 or so years old but all together intact. Great little character face with fixed open brown glass eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, feathered brows, has open mouth with two upper teeth, lovely color blush on his \"near\" perfect little face. A dimple in each cheek accents his overall charm. I flashed inside this bisque head and notice a light pencil look line crack from the top of rim of this head that extends down, it is all together intact with past repair,I did not see this until I flashed inside the head.There is plaster cement inside that was used to secure the brown glass eyes remain open. Brunette wig slips over a pate on the head. He wears afashionable silver gray two piece velvet suit with matching cap, accented with gold buttons and black and gold trim. Snap closure down the front of jacket and waist of the pants. I notice only a tiny snag at the knee area of the right pant leg, otherwise overall nice condition. This is a well made lined suit possibly made especially for this doll. There is a silver gray shirt, white undies, stockings and shoes.
