We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful tiger maple cannon ball rope bed that dates from the 1850s to1860s. It is a gorgeous bed in an amber finish and the finish was likely redone decades ago. This is a bed that is all complete. Somebody lengthened the new rails so they are 75 inches long. It takes a ¾ box spring. The inside dimensions for mattress purposes is 47.25 inches wide by 75 inches long. It is 16.5 inches high from the floor to the bottom of the side rail. The outside dimensions is 53.25 inches wide on the outside and 52 inches high to the top of the cannon ball. Tiger maple and birds eye maple have been used throughout the bed including the panels. If you are the type that does not need a box spring as most don’t nowadays, you can make a platform and put a full size mattress down as the outside dimensions of the block side rails are perfect for a full size bed.
